Housing Details

Students who need housing will stay in the University of Alaska Anchorage Student Housing on Sharon Gagnon Lane. This is a dedicated 4-bedroom apartment/condo that students share with other WWAMI Alaska students or Anchorage pain fellows. It is located off of Elmore Street between Providence Drive and Tudor Road. It is within easy walking distance of the WWAMI office, Providence Hospital, the Alaska Native Medical Center, and bus stops with connections to most of Anchorage and facilities used for the Clerkship.

The apartment has a living room, bathroom, kitchen, and storage area to be shared by the occupants. The kitchen has all of the necessary cooking ware and small appliances (coffee pot, microwave). The bedrooms have bed linens, pillows, and an alarm clock. The bathroom has towels and cleaning supplies, but additional cleaning agents and paper products are the responsibility of the student. Students are responsible for keeping apartments clean and washing linens.
Each bedroom is equipped with DSL internet connection. Please bring your own laptop if you have one. You will need to use a dial-up modem to access the Internet.

To allow for a smooth transition between students, these check-in/check-out times will be enforced:
Check-in: 3:00 pm the day before rotation begins (Sunday)
Check-out: 12:00pm the day after rotation ends (Saturday)

Unfortunately, families cannot be accommodated in housing.

Please note that there will be no exceptions made to the above housing arrangements. If you have any problems with these arrangements, please contact the Academic Affairs Office.

Any additional housing information or instructions will be sent to you.
